Don't Worry Be Burfi !!

 

 Usually I don’t write a movie review, in my view all have different opinion about a movie and so there is nothing common to talk about. But for the first time this unusual mesmerizing movie made me do this unusual work

When I heard star cast of this movie telling “Don't Worry Be Burfi “over television shows. I wondered what it means when they say “Don't Worry Be Burfi ”. After watching movie I realized the complicated message hidden behind these two simple words.

For me Be Burfi means accept the life whatever way it comes to you and live it with full heart.

BURFI, it’s a very common name of sweets in India and so does this name represent a very common man in this movie.

Burfi a man who can’t express his thoughts in spoken words but marvellously does with his facial expressions and a man who can’t hear the noise around but he does hear the song of his beating heart.

Even though his life is very simple but full of fun and pain together as a coin with two faces. He lives the life with full passion and with no regrets.

Falling in and out of love several times, heartbroken several times and gets up several times to face the life which has been hardest on him since he arrived on this planet.

Character of Shruti played by beautiful actress Illeana. 

Shruti is a normal girl, who is not happy with her life and falls for Burfi because she enjoys the life with him the way she always wished but never dared to live.

And finally she chooses material comforts over true love and leaves Barfi heartbroken to marry the moneyed man. And regrets lifelong doing so.

 

Character of Jhilmil played by stunning beautiful actress Priyanka Chopra.  

A girl with autism and left in a child care centre by her grandfather as her parents are ashamed in society to keep her with them.

Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills. Children with autism typically have difficulties in Pretend play, Social interactions, Verbal and non-verbal communication.

Even though Jhilmil is unable to express her emotions and communicate normal social life but still she leads a life full of emotions and love. Her innocence is far away from calculative mind of a developed brain and that’s the beauty in her life.

It’s a cute innocent fearless love story among these two uncommon characters (Burfi and Jhilmil).

Burfi ‘s story revolves around falling in love followed by harsh storm to blow his emotions away and brush out small happiness from his life but he keeps smiling as if nothing happened .

Jhilmil is unaware of the outside world and falls in love with Burfi; heals all pain in Burfi’s life with her love and innocence.

 Few of my favourite and heart touching moments from this movie are …

First when Jhilmil is teaching Burfi how to write and what I see in this special scene is that we can learn anything from anyone if we are ego less that usually we common complete superior people are not.

Another Heart touching moment is when Burfi scolds Shruti when she chooses material comforts over true love and leaves Barfi heartbroken to marry the moneyed man. And to the very next moment he says sorry to Shruti and accepts that she can’t choose him over a perfect and wealthy man.

Another Heart touching moment is moment where Burfi tests all of his friends by cutting the lamp and sanding at a distance. Everyone had feared except Jhilmil.

I feel that’s how we all should be living this life with no fear, no regrets, trusting and following your heart.

I do live on this basis and know how much fulfilling it is when you have no fear and no regrets of your past actions.

Trust and follow your heart, allow it to take you wherever it wants.
